Black Dog Pedometer is a free iPhone/iPod Touch application designed to motivate you to take regular exercise in order to help reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety. It tracks the number of steps and time it takes you to complete a walk or a run. You can set a distance and time goal and it will track your progress. The screen displays your character on the left and the black dog on the right. The black dog walks at a steady pace to help you reach your goal - and if you start to move slowly, he offers you some encouragement. You can use it every time you go for a walk/run and it will keep track of your personal best time. The app is also linked to the Black Dog Institute's mobile website which provides more information about depression and bipolar disorder.
