Description:

Survivalkid.nl is an interactive preventive intervention for young people who have a family member with a mental health or addiction problem. The site contains stories from other young people in similar situations, interactive games, and a moderated forum and chat rooms where users can communicate with peers. Contact with a professional prevention worker by email is also possible. There is also a weekly survey which visitors are encouraged to respond to and to make comments about in the forum.

There is currently no research evidence available on the efficacy of the Survivalkid.nl site. Tracking of the site's visitors indicated that during the first 3 years online, only 19% visited only once, over two-thirds 2-15 times and 14% returned more than 15 times.
