The Meter is an information-based website for adolescents and young adults with Type 1 diabetes. The site provides information and education on a number of diabetes and other health-related topics, and the information is targeted at 3 age groups: 13 to 14 year olds, 15 to 17 year olds and those aged 18 or older. Each "age" section contains similar information that is adapted to be age-appropriate. Topics include: managing thoughts and feelings, the benefits of relaxation, maintaining a healthy diet and an active lifestyle, how to manage relationships with peers, parents and teachers, learning to drive, completing school, and attending university. The site also contains general information about Type 1 diabetes.
