Dementie de Baas (Mastery Over Dementia)

Description:

Dementie de Baas is for informal carers who need support in coping with their partner's or relative's dementia. The site includes an eight lesson course in addition to nine email bulletins sent three times a week. In the course you will learn about how you can deal with problem behaviour, the importance of taking time for yourself, how to identify your limits and how to ask for help. It is recommended that you complete a lesson every one to two weeks; the total duration of the course averages 10 to 14 weeks. You will work independently through the course, but will be personally supervised by a professional counsellor. There are also homework assignments and a care diary to be completed. The homework assignments are designed to help you put into practice what you learn in the course lessons. Communication with your supervising counsellor is conducted through the website.
