Description:

MyCalmBeat is a mobile application designed to be used with an accompanying heart rate monitor to help you manage stress. Low heart rate variability is assumed to be linked to stress and the program helps you to increase your heart rate variability through slow breathing. Firstly you use the MyCalmBeat monitor to calculate your personal best breathing rate where you are most calm. You can then use the mobile app to practise breathing at this rate every day, for a recommended 10 minutes. The app allows you to practise on the move and track your ‘calmness' over time. It is assumed that by practising breathing at this optimal rate, you will improve your body's ability to remain calm in stressful situations. You can also use the program before stressful events or before going to sleep.
