Strength Resilience Training System (SRTS)

Description:

SRTS is based on graduated stress exposure, and is designed for people working in stressful professions such as the miliatary, police force, first responders, and even professional athletes. The program builds resilience to stress so that stressors trigger adaptive coping skills rather than leading to diminishing performance and stress injury. The program progresses from knowledge-based modules, to modules on energy self-regulation techniques, through to biofeedback-controlled games, increasing in intensity and complexity. The system provides users with an Adaptive Coach , which reminds users of their progress and makes recommendations on how to advance.

Outcome Summary:

A number of evaluaions have been conducted on SRTS, but most of these have not been published in the peer-reviewed literature. Although details of these trials are not available, researchers report positive effects for military personnel in terms of stress, perceived depression, and PTSD symptoms.

An additional uncontrolled study involving police department personnel reported significant reductions in physical stress and increases in emotional vitality.
