What? Me Worry!?!

- Description:
The What? Me Worry!?! program is provided by the Centre for Clinical Interventions, which comes under the auspices of the Western Australian Department of Health. The program comprises of 10 modules about chronic worrying and generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), which are to be completed one per week for 10 weeks. The modules provide strategies for how you can manage your worrying and anxiety. These are designed to be worked through sequentially, i.e. you should complete one module before going on to the next. Each module includes information, worksheets, and suggested exercises or activities. The content of the modules combines traditional cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) elements with techniques that target intolerance of uncertainty, metacognitive beliefs, and acceptance and mindfulness.

- Outcome Summary:
The efficacy of the What? Me Worry!?! program has been tested in a multiple case-series design study comprising 3 participants who met the DSM-IV criteria for a primary diagnosis of GAD. All 3 participants achieved clinically significant improvement on measures of worry, GAD symptomatology, and metacognitions between baseline and 5-month follow-up. At the completion of the study, none of the participants met the diagnostic criteria for GAD.
